Hyatt Is Opening a New All-Inclusive Resort in Cozumel

A new Dreams all-inclusive resort is coming to the Mexican Caribbean island of Cozumel.

The new Dreams Cozumel Cape Resort and Spa will be one of the first Apple Leisure Group resorts to debut following Hyatt’s high-profile acquisition of the company in August.

The new, all-inclusive Dreams Resorts and spas by AMR Collection resort will be the brand’s first-ever resort in Cozumel, with plans to debut in the first quarter of 2022.

It will also be the 24th property in the Dreams portfolio, following the recent debut of the Dreams Sapphire Resort and Spa in Puerto Morelos, also on the Caribbean coast of Mexico.

Dreams Cozumel Cape Resort will have a total of 154 suites, including a number of junior suite with swim-up access and oceanfront views.

When it debuts, it will be part of the largest resort complex on the island of Cozumel.

The property will have four bars and lounges, four a la carte dining concepts; pool and beach service, unlimited international and domestic top-shelf spirits, 24-hour room service and daily activities and entertainment.

Guests at Dreams Cozumel will also have access to the neighboring Sunscape Sabor Cozumel.

Guests 18 and over will be able to access the nearby Secrets Aura Cozumel adults-only resort.

It’s a boost for Cozumel, which continues to be one of the fastest-growing destinations in the Mexican Caribbean.

“Mexico is a cornerstone of AMR’s success and growth, as travelers in the U.S. and beyond continue to seek out the beautiful destinations and world-class hospitality it is known for,” said Javier Coll, Group President of AMResorts Global Business Development. “The Dreams® Resorts & Spas brand is among AMR Collection’s most popular and respected brands due to the consistent, high-quality experiences guests of all ages enjoy from property to property – we are confident in the addition of Dreams Cozumel Resort & Spa to bring the brand standards to a new destination in Mexico.”

Frontier Airlines is launching another new nonstop route to the Caribbean, with service from Orlando to Antigua and Barbuda.

The low-cost carrier will kick off its new nonstop flights on Dec. 4, with service weekly on Saturdays, just ahead of what’s projected to be a very strong holiday season for the destination.

“Enjoy beautiful planes, excellent service, and huge savings when you fly Frontier Airlines from Orlando, Florida to the gorgeous Caribbean island of Antigua this winter,” Elite Island Resorts’ the destinations leading all-inclusive company, said in a statement.

Elite’s Antigua portfolio includes The Verandah, Hammock Cove, the St James’s Club; Galley Bay and the Pineapple Beach Club.

All of those properties are now open to travelers; all those 16 and up must show proof of vaccination to enter.

That slightly mirrors Antigua and Barbuda’s entry protocols, which stipulate that all travelers 18 and up must have taken at least one vaccine shot. (You can find more here).

The new flight launch comes as Antigua and Barbuda was recently named Best Honeymoon Destination in the Caribbean at the CJ Travelers’ Choice Awards 2021
