Antigua and Barbuda Eyes “Way Forward” for Tourism

Antigua and Barbuda tourism and health officials will meet this week to discuss “protocols” which will be implemented for a potential resumption of business in the destination.

“The idea is safety for all the people, the employees and the guests as well, hence the reason why we are collaborating to ensure that every best practice possible to prevent any spread of Covid-19 is instituted.” said Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Minister Charles Fernandez.

The Minister said “hopefully the government will relax the aspect of access to the beach as that is a very important part of our product offering and in this time a lot of our visitors will be coming to enjoy the sea and sun which may be deemed as necessary and therapeutic to fight the scourge of Covid-19.”

Fernandez met last week with members of the Antigua and Barbuda Hotels and Tourism Association to discuss the “way forward” amid the COVID-19 crisis.

Fernandez also toured the Sandals Grande resort to see the status of the property.

Antigua officials said Sandals was set to launch a “timed” reopening plan of some of the brand’s Caribbean properties.

Like large brands such as Marriott, Sandals will reportedly be launching hygiene protocols.

A Charming Little Island in The Bahamas

It’s the little islands that get you. The tiny ones. The ones where you can only get around on a golf cart, where uncrowded, spectacular beaches meet historic cottages.

That’s precisely the case on Harbour Island, The Bahamas’ most charming little island, a magical place off the coast of North Eleuthera

It’s the kind of place that keeps you dreaming about it, about the glittering shores of Pink Sand Beach and boutique hotspots like The Landing and Rock House and the lovely beachfront resorts like The Dunmore

It keeps you dreaming about endless, Kalik-filled lunches on the marina at Valentines Resort; about popping in to look around at India Hicks’ harbor-front shop.

It’s that rare place that captivates you while you’re there and stays with you, indefinitely, when you aren’t.

So take a moment of your day and journey to Harbour Island in The Bahamas— and catch of glimpse of why we so quickly fell in love with it — and why we’re thinking about it right now.

Caribbean Moment: In St Martin, The Feeling of the Beach

A pleasure boat skims past. The waves wash back and forth. An owl reminds you he’s there.

A technicolor sunset.

This is what the beach feels like.

This is Grand Case, St Martin, and this is an homage to the kind of day we all fantasize about right now, about the sounds and the hues and the feelings of the Caribbean we all miss.

The stillness; the serenity; the way simple sounds are amplified, how a simple hoot or a single froth of a wave can mean so much more.

So take a virtual trip to the beloved Caribbean fishing village of Grand Case in St Martin (and the wonderful Grand Case Beach Club) and enjoy the latest Caribbean Moment.
