The highly-anticipated Excellence Oyster Bay has officially opened in Jamaica.

The new adults-only addition to Jamaica’s buzzing north coast is the first Excellence-branded resort in the English-speaking Caribbean.

The $110 million adults-only project, which held its grand opening this week, has 10 bars and lounges, 24-hour room service, three swimming pools and four outdoor hot tubs, among other amenities.

The Victorian-style property, set on a private peninsula, has a total of 315 suites.

It’s yet another addition to what is the fast-growing Trelawny parish of Jamaica, directly adjacent to the country’s tourism hub of Montego Bay.

“The people of Trelawny now have every reason to smile, as this phase of the Oyster Bay resort development represents an investment of $110 million and which saw some 1,500 persons gainfully employed,” said Jamaica Tourism Minister Edmund Bartlett, who was on hand for the grand opening. “Of course, the vast majority of them were Jamaicans, including contractors and subcontractors.”

The property had been in soft opening since the beginning of the summer.
