The newest SLS hotel in the wider Caribbean is opening its doors this week, Caribbean Journal has learned.
Parent company Accor’s highly anticipated SLS Cancun will begin welcoming guests Feb. 10, according to its Web site.
The 45-unit luxury boutique hotel is set in the Puerto Cancun development, which is home to a marina and a Tom Weiskopf-designed golf course and centered around a private club.
The hotel’s signature restaurant is Leynia by Chef Jose Icardi, an Argentinian grill “inspired by flavors from Japan.”
That’s along with a poolside lounge called Altitude.

The SLS is also home to a spa and a lobby cocktail bar designed by Piero Lissoni.

The hotel is the second SLS hotel in the wider Caribbean, joining the existing SLS Baha Mar on Cable Beach in Nassau, The Bahamas.
It’s also the first SLS hotel to launch under the Accor umbrella; last November, Accor took full ownership of all sbe hotel brands, including SLS, Delano, Mondrian and Hyde.

That came after the company had initially purchased a significant stake in see in 2018.
Cancun has been open for tourism since last summer.
In order to help travelers meet the new CDC requirements, the SLS Cancun will be offering free on-site testing.
