Hilton Has a New All-Inclusive in Curacao

Hilton has continued its Caribbean all-inclusive expansion with its first-ever all-inclusive on the island of Curacao.

The new Mangrove Beach Corendon Curacao All-Inclusive Resort is part of the Curio Collection by Hilton, a nod to the surging interest in all-inclusive vacations in the wider Caribbean.

The property, set near downtown Otrabanda and Punda in Willemstad, is owned by Corendon Hotels and Resorts, managed by Corendon Curacao Holding.

“The grand opening celebration is the culmination of many months of hard work and collaboration with city officials to bring Mangrove Beach Corendon Curaçao All-Inclusive Resort to life,” said the resort’s general manager, Biray Öğüt. “It is incredibly rewarding to have the unwavering support of the community and our local leadership, and we want to thank them for helping to make this project possible.”

The 399-room resort includes its own private beach, four pools, and outdoor activities like diving, beach volleyball and shuffleboard.

That’s along with nine distinct dining concepts, including specialty restaurants, a cigar and rum tasting lounge and pool and beach bars.

The poolscape includes six waterslides, including what the hotel bills as one of the most renowned waterslides in the Caribbean — the King Cobra.

It’s the latest in a growing all-inclusive portfolio for Hilton, which has also opened new resorts in the region in the Dominican Republic and Mexico.

That growth has come as more and more travel companies enter the all-inclusive space, most notably Marriott, which recently debuted its All-Inclusive by Marriott collectionin the Caribbean and Mexico.

It’s also a sign of the growing all-inclusive sector in Curacao, which now has a pair of AMR Collection properties and a Sandals on the way, too.

Curacao is currently open for tourism; for more on the Dutch Caribbean island’s entry protocols, see here.

What to Know About Visiting Anguilla, Which Is Only Open to Vaccinated Travelers

Anguilla has been changing its entry protocols back and forth for the past week; to help clear up the confusion, here is what travelers need to know.

Since July, the island has required all travelers eligible for vaccination to be fully vaccinated in order to enter the island.

That remains the case; all visitors eligible for vaccination (in effect over 18 years old) must show proof of full vaccination in order to be admitted to the island.

That doesn’t apply to unvaccinated minors who are accompanying fully vaccinated travelers;

Regardless of vaccination status, all visitors need to upload a negative PCR test taken and received within three to five days before travel.

All visitors staying in a hotel, resort or licensed villa for any length of stay need to take a test upon arrival, and remain on property at their accommodation until they receive a negative test result.

All visitors need to then take a test on day four of their trip.

Test results are typically delivered within 12 hours.

All travelers need to apply for Entry Permission to visit Anguilla; you can find more here.

In Barbados, a Different Kind of All-Inclusive Resort

It was always one of the coolest corners of Barbados, a hotel that was equal parts boutique hotel and private club.

For years, The House has been one of the most sought-after stays on the island, a small, effortlessly cool beach resort tucked in the heart of the West Coast.

And now it’s something else: an all-inclusive.

The beach at The House.

The 34-room, adults-only hotel is part of the Elegant Hotels portfolio, which is now part of All-Inclusive by Marriott, the broad new all-inclusive offering by the most famous name in hospitality. (In Barbados, that includes five other hotels: Tamarind, Treasure Beach, Crystal Cove, Turtle Beach and The Waves.)

And what that means is that it’s not just one of the best adults-only hotels in Caribbean — it’s part of the pantheon of the best all-inclusives in the whole region.

What hasn’t changed is the essence of The House: the plush suites (some of which come with their own private plunge pools); the torch-lit twilight cocktails; the lovely boutique spa; the afternoon tea.

That’s along with a lovely stretch of Platinum Coast beach, easy access to nearby golf courses; and even a complimentary water taxi to other nearby Marriott all-inclusive properties.

And then there’s the party piece, The House’s renowned champagne breakfast, a daily, bubbly ritual that turns ordinary mornings into celebrations.

Because while it’s all-inclusive in every respect, it doesn’t feel like an all-inclusive; it’s taken a hip, boutique hospitality experience and married it with Marriott’s class-leading take on the all-inclusive experience, one that emphasizes just that — experience.

It’s all included, it’s all part of The House, with the breezy convenience more and more travelers are seeking right now.

And that’s a very cool thing.
