VIDEO: Checking in to Barbados’ Ocean Two Resort

There’s a bit of everything in the St Lawrence Gap of Barbados: fish shacks, beach bars, nightclubs, restaurants, artists, characters and rum shops.

It’s the bustling, ever-energetic, colorful corner of the south coast of Barbados, a slice of life and a necessary stop on any trip to the island.

But there’s something hidden away here, a well-guarded secret that’s one of the island’s best places to stay.

It’s called the Ocean Two Resort and Residences, and it’s a modern, beautifully furnished resort right on a wonderful stretch of south coast beach.

It’s long been a favorite among travelers in the know, thanks to some of the most modern rooms on the island, terrific service and, well, a hard to beat location in the heart of the Gap.

But now the secret’s out.

VIDEO: The Legendary Bimini Big Game Club

History abounds here, an island where time itself comes in search of adventure.

It’s equal parts island and small town, blessed with remarkable natural beauty but not lacking in personality.

This is Bimini and the Bimini Big Game Club, one of the Caribbean’s truly legendary hotels.

The club first opened its doors in 1936, the brainchild of Nassau’s Neville Stuart, a haven for adventurers and big game fishermen and even, for a few days in 1968, the Bahamian home of Dr Marthin Luther King Jr (he stayed in Cottage Number 3).

Few places are more relaxing than the BBGC.

In the decades since it has remained a Mecca for sportfishermen, divers and those seeking a raw, unadulterated island experience, for the clearest water you’ll ever see.

Whether you’re in search of adventure, diving, fishing or one of the region’s more relaxing resorts, you’ll find it here.

Bimini has its own character, its own tempo, its own authenticity, a tiny stretch of sand in the Gulf Stream.

It’s a bucket list kind of place, one that exemplifies the beauty and wonder of the Out Islands of The Bahamas.

And the Big Game Club is its epicenter.

“Work is also progressing on the Kimpton, Kawana Bay, another hotel development on Grand Anse Beach, which will be open in 2019,” she continued. We will grow our room stock by 32% in the next two years which will lead to increased capacity to almost 3,000 licensed and certified rooms by the Grenada Tourism Authority.”

With 16 percent growth in arrivals from the U.S. market in 2017 over the prior year, and U.S. market share at an all-time high of 46 percent, this performance data drew the interest of U.S.-based airlines.
