Bahamas Readies for Major Caribbean Tourism Conference

By the Caribbean Journal staff

The Bahamas is set to host one of the Caribbean’s leading tourism conferences.

The Caribbean Tourism Organization’s State of the Industry Conference is set for the Atlantis Paradise Island resort Oct. 3-5.

Business meetings will begin the conference Oct. 1-2, followed by the official start of the conference Oct. 3.

“SOTIC is all about winning strategies, no matter how tourism touches you. Not only is SOTIC the preeminent educational forum for Caribbean hospitality and tourism professionals, it is far and away the most important event on the Caribbean’s tourism calendar,” said Bahamas Tourism Minister Dionisio D’Aguilar.

“This event is where we assess our situation, share the trends and best practices, learn from the experiences of others, and use all of this information to devise ways to improve the industry, make it more sustainable and inclusive,” he said.

The conference follows a very successful iteration last year in Grenada.
