Turks and Caicos Is Getting Another New Luxury Hotel

By the Caribbean Journal staff

Another top hotel project is coming to Turks and Caicos.

It’s called Turks Cay, and the new beachfront luxury hotel will be set on the site of the former Third Turtle Inn in Providenciales, a spokesperson for the property told Caribbean Journal.

The Turtle Cove-area property, which is slated to debut at the end of 2020, will have 140 rooms, along with multiple pools and “at least three” gourmet restaurants, according to a spokesperson for the property.

The 140 rooms will be a mix of studios, one-bedroom units and “master suites.”

Other amenities will include a semi-private beach, a screening room, a cigar lounge, a nightclub and, crucially, a new marina anchored by a high-end shopping center.

It will also include a “spa and sanctuary” built from native palm wood, rock and palm thatch.

It’s the brainchild of developer Arik Kislin, who said he wanted to preserve the rich history of the site— including a museum-like lounge area that honors the legacy of the historic Third Turtle.

The Third Turtle Inn was the first-ever hotel in Providenciales.

The project is the latest in what is a wave of new hotel developments in Turks and Caicos, from the Ritz-Carlton hotel, which has finally launched construction work, to Hyatt’s just-announced Andaz hotel, the first-ever Andaz in the Caribbean region.

That’s after the island’s most luxurious new property, the Shore Club Turks and Caicos, recently made its debut on Provo’s Long Bay Beach.
