Airbnb is bringing its experiential travel offering to the island of Bermuda

The company’s Airbnb Experiences is set to launch in Bermuda next spring, the Bermuda Tourism Authority confirmed this week.

Bermuda will be the fourth destination with Airbnb Experiences in the wider Caribbean-Atlantic region, along with Cuba, Puerto Rico and Jamaica.

“Hosting an Airbnb Experience is an opportunity for a Bermudian to highlight his or her insider knowledge of the island and reach a worldwide audience of highly engaged travelers,” said Pat Phillp-Fairn, chief product and experiences development officer at the Bermuda Tourism Authority. “This is another avenue for local entrepreneurs to present their distinct offerings, while still working with other distribution partners. It also presents an opportunity for the destination as a whole because Airbnb Experiences helps to set us apart from our competitors.”

Experiences are hosted by locals who wish to share their community and expertise with guests by planning activities and excursions.

“We are very excited about the launch of Airbnb Experiences in Bermuda,” said Carlos Munoz, who manages public policy and communications for Airbnb in the Caribbean and Central America. “The rollout of Experiences on the island is only possible because of the productive partnership with the BTA and we look forward to offering guests the heartfelt hospitality of our Bermudian hosts.”
