Aruba Just Lifted All Testing Requirements for Travelers

The Dutch Caribbean island of Aruba has lifted all of its pandemic-related entry requirements for travelers, Caribbean Journal has learned.

That means travelers no longer have to present a negative test or proof of vaccination in order to enter the destination.

Travelers will, however, still have to complete Aruba’s Embarkation/Disembarkation card before arrival (you can find it here).

Aruba is also still requiring Aruba Visitors Insurance for all travelers.

Aruba is the latest destination to shelve testing requirements, following the lead of the neighboring Dutch Caribbean island of Curacao, which announced a similar move earlier this month

Indeed, more and more destinations in the Caribbean have been easing their entry protocols; some are lifting their restrictions completely, while others are beginning to waive testing for vaccinated or boosted travelers.

The move is part of a push by Aruba to “continue its shift to greater levels of normalcy,” according to a statement from the Aruba Tourism Authority.

Traveling to St Kitts Just Got Easier

St Kitts and Nevis is updating its travel protocols effective April 1, Caribbean Journal has learned.

The destination’s new rules mean travelers can now show proof of either a negative antigen test within 24 hours before arrival or a negative PCR test within 72 hours prior to arrival.

It’s a revision of the country’s previous protocols, which had only allowed PCR tests.

“The Federation is primed to continue welcoming visitors through the spring and summer months,” said St Kitts Tourism Minister Lindsay FP Grant. “We are fully open for visitors, and we are pleased to share revised entry protocols that make air travel to the destination easier for our international guests. We are confident that these amended entry requirements will aid in the rebound of our air arrivals, and the ongoing recovery of our tourism industry and related economies.”

Only fully vaccinated travelers may visit St Kitts and Nevis, with exceptions for children under 18.

“Spring and summer are ideal times to experience our destination and easing our entry processes means more seamless arrivals for our guests,” added Ellison “Tommy” Thompson, CEO of the St. Kitts Tourism Authority. “We look forward to travelers immersing themselves in our quintessential Caribbean experiences this season, whether they’re seeking a relaxing escape, the adrenaline of the outdoors, exceptional cuisine, live music, or a destination rich in history.”

Children ages 11 and under who are accompanying their fully vaccinated parents or guardians take on the vaccination status of their parents.

Unvaccinated children between 12 and 17 must test upon arrival and vacation in place with family members while awaiting their test results.

All travelers need to fill out the destinations Embarkation Form (you can find it here), along with submitting proof of vaccination and a hard copy of their test result.

Anguilla Is Updating Its Travel Rules

Anguilla has unveiled its new protocols for travelers, highlighted by slightly eased entry rules for boosted travelers.

The new rules are a bit complicated, so here’s what travelers need to know.

As of April 1, fully vaccinated travelers over 18 will no longer have to apply for permission to enter the island.

Travelers will, however, still have to present evidence of full vaccination and a negative test — either a PCR test taken within three days before travel, or an antigen test within two days of travel.

That brings us to Anguilla’s on-arrival testing

For those who have received their booster shot, or received their full vaccination schedule in the last six months, no arrival test is required.

For those who have been fully vaccinated, but were vaccinated more than six months before their trip to Anguilla, an arrival test is required at a cost of $50.

Anguilla is the only Caribbean destination currently requiring on-arrival testing for fully vaccinated travelers.

Unvaccinated visitors under 18 can only enter Anguilla if they’re accompanied by fully vaccinated travelers.

Unvaccinated travelers who have received a medical exemption to vaccination must apply for entry, test on arrival, quarantine for five days and then receive a negative test to exit quarantine.

Bonaire Just Eased Its Entry Requirements for Travelers

Unvaccinated travelers or travelers whose last shot was administered more than 270 days ago must take an antigen test within 24 hours before departure.

Alternatively, they can take a PCR test within 48 hours before departure.

All travelers, irrespective of vaccination status, must still fill out the health declaration form to visit Bonaire (you can find it here)

The lighter requirements come as tourism continues to grow to Bonaire, thanks to its already-strong diving industry and an increasing number of visitors drawn to the island for its buzzing culinary scene.

The Caribbean island is also eyeing a strong summer season, buoyed by its highly-anticipated Bonaire Rum Week in June (for more, visit Bonaire Rum Week).
