A New Hire at Puerto Rico’s Wyndham Grand Rio Mar

Puerto Rico’s Wyndham Grand Rio Mar, one of the destination’s top golf resorts, has announced the appointment of a new sales manager.

The property has tapped Rosa Luke as its new senior sales manager for the midwest and western United States regions.

Luke, who will be based in Chicago, has more than two decades of experience in the hospitality and convention marketing industries.

In the new role, Luke will look to drive sales to the 400-room resort.

She was most recently the national sales director at Discover Puerto Rico.

Carnival Readies for Mexico Expansion

Carnival Cruise Line is readying its Carnival Panorama cruise ship for its highly-anticipated expansion of Mexico cruises.

Carnival Panorama has completed its sea trials in the Adriatic Sea in anticipation of its launch from Long Beach, Calif. in December.

It will be the brand’s first new ship on the West Coast in 20 years.

“Carnival Panorama is a wonderful addition to the fleet and she passed all of her maneuvers and tests with flying colors.   We can’t wait to welcome guests aboard this beautiful ship,” said Carnival Panorama Captain Carlo Queirolo.

Carnival Panorama will launch year-round seven-day cruises to the Mexican Riviera beginning Dec. 14.

Those cruises will include stops in Puerto Vallarta, Cabo San Lucas and Mazatlan.

Royal Caribbean Returning to New Orleans Year-Round

Royal Caribbean is making a big return to the Big Easy.

The cruise giant will be sending its Majesty of the Seas cruise ship to homeport in New Orleans year-round beginning in January 2020.

The ship will be sailing a series of seven-night itineraries out of New Orleans, all of which will include stops at Royal Caribbean’s new Perfect Day at CocoCay private destination in The Bahamas.

The company’s new cruises from New Orleans have already launched sales through April 2020, according to a statement from the company.
