Carnival Cruise Line has brought its completely transformed Sunrise ship for a season of new Caribbean cruises out of Fort Lauderdale.
Carnival Sunrise officially launched its season of four and five-day Caribbean cruises this week.
Each four-day cruise will be calling on the Half Moon Cay and Princess Cays destinations in The Bahamas, along with Grand Turk and the capital of The Bahamas, Nassau.
Every five-day voyage will include stops in Ocho Rios, Grand Cayman, Grand Turk and The Bahamas.
“We are pleased to bring Carnival Sunrise to Port Everglades, providing our guests with more options in sailing from South Florida,” said Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line. “Since debuting earlier this year, the ship has received rave reviews from our guests offering exciting enhancements and the amazing service that our crew always deliver.”
The relaunched ship has everything from new fine-dining experiences to a new water park.
Carnival also said it had updated all of the ship’s state rooms.
A new $150 million Margaritaville resort project is coming to the Dominican Republic.
The new Margaritaville Island Reserve by Karisma Cap Cana has broken ground in the tony Cap Cana section of Punta Cana.
The all-inclusive property is the first-ever Margaritaville in the Dominican Republic and the product of a partnership between Margaritaville and Karisma Hotels and Resorts.
Set on Cap Cana’s Juanillo Beach, the family-focused Margaritaville Island Reserve by Karisma Cap Cana will have a total of 228 rooms and suites.
It will feature a total of seven eateries and three bars, including the brand’s signature Five o’Clock Somewhere bar.
“Margaritaville Island Reserve by Karisma Cap Cana marks Karisma’s second property in the Dominican Republic and is especially significant to me as I was born and raised here,” said Rafael Feliz, Chairman of Karisma Hotels & Resorts. “We look forward to introducing the ultimate luxury vacation for families, couples and singles to escape and have fun beachfront while enjoying authentic touches and unforgettable ‘wow’ moments. The recently-expanded Malliouhana, Auberge Resorts Collection resort in Anguilla is set to reopen for the season this week.
The luxury Meads Bay-area resort will relaunch Nov. 1 with a total of 63 rooms, an expansion from its prior total of 46.
The new rooms include 11 beachfront suites, four new garden suites and a new two-bedroom beachfront villa, all outfitted in the property’s signature colors of “mint, mango and white.”
The property has also expanded its Spa, with six new treatment rooms and a new spa pool overlooking the ocean.
That’s along with new meeting and gathering space near the lobby aimed at “C-Suite retreats,” with space for up to 60 people.
And the resort has reimagined its culinary concepts, with a new bar at the flagship Cafe Celeste eatery and a reimagined “Bar Soleil.”
The resort is even debuting new “beach ceviche” classes that will teach guests how to transform local seafood into rum-infused ceviche.
