Bucuti and Tara Resort, Aruba This twin resort also offers two-for-one on webcams — there’s a beach-facing cam on each of the hotels. Of the two, the Tara cam has the better view of Eagle Beach, but you can enjoy Aruba’s ever-swaying palm trees moving to the trade winds from both perspectives.

Costa Cruises Extends Suspension of Operations to May 30

Italy-based global cruise line Costa Cruises has extended the suspension of its cruise operations to May 30, the company announced in a statement.

The company made the move “Due to the continuation of the emergency situation linked to the global pandemic of Covid-19 and with the continuation of containment measures such as closing ports and restrictions on the movement of people that do not actually allow the company to operate.”

Costa’s global network of cruises includes a presence in the wider Caribbean region.

Costa said it would be taking steps to advise both travel agents and guests affected by the changes of their reprotection options, it said.

It’s the latest in what has been a tumultuous period for the global cruise line during the coronavirus pandemic.

Caribbean Moment: A Wonderful Little Beach in St Croix

It’s an oh-so-brief ferry ride to get to this lovable little islet off the coast of Christiansted in St Croix, US Virgin Islands.

And while you can still see the colorful buildings of St Croix’s gorgeous historic town, you feel like you’re a world away.

And that’s the point of Caribbean Moment — we want you to feel that you’ve taken a little vacation to the Caribbean on your phone or your computer.

It’s called Protestant Cay, for years the home of the Hotel on the Cay, and it’s easily the most underrated beach on St Croix — and one of the best on the entire island (and, we might argue, all of the USVI).

The water here shimmers, it sparkles and it sets your heart aflutter. Marry that with a perfect sandy shoreline and even a great beach bar and it’s a full-fledged pilgrimage spot for all those who love the Caribbean.

For now, use it as an escape, a dream, a vision of the Caribbean we all love.
