Caribbean Moment: On the Lagoon in Martinique

The eastern Atlantic coast of Martinique is raw and beautiful, filled with tiny coves and bays surrounded imposing villas on green hills.

It’s a place for quiet and escape, for secluded beauty, as is all of Martinique, an island that is as fascinating as it is gorgeous; one of those places that still remains romantic, exotic.

Just off the beach at Cap Est in the town of Le Francois is the essence of Martinique’e East; a seductive lagoon, serene and turquoise.

Take a moment to enjoy the spectacular natural wonder of this place in the latest Caribbean Moment video below.

Caribbean Airline LIAT Suspending Flights Through May 15

Caribbean regional airline LIAT is extending the suspension its flight services in the Caribbean to May 15.

The comes amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

The decision was based on a review by the company’s Board of Directors and Executive Management, according to a statement.

“Several destinations have extended their border closures and instituted strict travel restrictions which mean that passengers are unable to travel,” said LIAT Chief Executive Officer Julie Reifer-Jones.

The airline said passengers who had booked flights during the period would automatically have their trips canceled and would receive “a full credit.”

Reifer-Jones said the airline “was working to resume operations across the LIAT network as soon as it was feasible to do so.”

A Virtual Bahamas Vacation With Lenny Kravitz

You can travel all across the world and never find water like what you find in The Bahamas.

There’s the Windex-hued stuff in the Exumas; the deep electric blues of Abaco; the classic turquoise of the beaches of Nassau.

It’s something we’ve been think about a lot lately, and The Bahamas has launched a new mini digital vacation for all of us who are dreaming about the region these days.

It’s called “From The Bahamas With Love,” and it has two co-stars: the immense natural beauty of the Bahamas, and music legend Lenny Kravitz, whose mother was of Bahamian descent and for whom The Bahamas has always been a significant part of his life (he has a home base in Eleuthera, too).

Indeed, Kravitz’s hit song “Fly Away”, which is the soundtrack to the video, was written in — and inspired by — The Bahamas.

See the full video below, and enjoy your quick trip to The Bahamas.
