Four Seasons Reopens Resort in Anguilla

Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts has officially reopened its resort on the island of Anguilla, Caribbean Journal has learned.

The Four Seasons Resort and Residences relaunched operations on Nov. 19.

It’s the second Four Seasons resort to reopen in the Caribbean, following this month’s relaunch of the Four Seasons Resort Nevis.

The 181-room resort has a mix of 70 rooms, 50 suites, 24 villas, 24 townhomes and 33 residences.

That’s along with amenities like an 8,100-square-foot spa, an NBA-regulation basketball court and 1,000 feet of beachfront on Barnes and Meads Bay.

Anguilla reopened for tourism in August.

This month, the island entered the next phase of its reopening that included the relaunch of select hotels and resorts. (That includes several that have already reopened, including Belmond Cap Juluca, the CuisinArt Resort and Tranquility Beach, among others).

Travelers still must apply to visit Anguilla (you can find more information on that here), either coming for “quick dips” of five days or less or choosing extended stay options of up to three months, with a tiered pricing structure for visitors depending on their length of stay.

Anguilla has also launched a program that can allow remote workers to stay for up to a year on the island.

Caribbean Moment: A Perfect Beach in St Barth

There’s that sound.

The light crash, the froth on the sand, the oceanic metronome.

It’s the original sound of the Caribbean, the one that has us coming back again and again, just like the waves.

And on a perfect afternoon at St Barth’s Shell Beach, the sound is intoxicating.

The latest Caribbean Moment is fresh from one of the Caribbean Journal editorial team’s first trips back to the Caribbean since the onset of the pandemic.

And even if you’re not traveling now, or not traveling yet, you can watch this and take a trip there for a minute.

(And if you are planning a trip, St Barth is open and welcoming tourists, too, meaning you can pull right up here, head to Shellona for a ti’ punch and then spend the rest of the day at your villa.)

So sit back, turn up the volume and take a minute-long voyage to French Caribbean bliss.

All-Inclusive Serenade Punta Cana Targeting December Debut

The new all-inclusive Serenade Punta Cana Beach, Spa and Casino Resort is targeting a soft opening in December, Caribbean Journal has learned.

The Dominican Republic resort is planning to open its doors for the first time on Dec. 10.

The property will feature a total of 603 rooms across seven buildings, eight dining options and four different swimming pools, among other amenities.

That’s along with a kids club, a 9,000-square-foot spa, a 6,800-square foot casino and 9,200 square feet of flexible meeting space.

When it opens, it will be just a handful of new hotels to open since the beginning of the pandemic.

Punta Cana just saw its first new hotel open since the pandemic this past week with the launch of the new Radisson Blu Punta Cana.

It’s the first hotel developed by Serenade Caribbean Hotels.
