JetBlue Adding More Flights to Mexico City

By the Caribbean Journal staff

JetBlue is adding a pair of new nonstop routes to Mexico City this fall.

The company is adding new nonstop flights from both New York City and Boston beginning Oct. 25.

The flights will operate daily.

“Mexico City, the second largest city in the Americas and the largest city JetBlue flies to, is critically important as we continue to grow our footprint in Latin America and provide travelers with the award-winning JetBlue experience and low fares,” said Giselle Cortes, director international Blue Cities, JetBlue. “And with service to more international destinations than ever before in both our New York and Boston focus cities we’re ensuring JetBlue is a top choice for more travelers in both cities.”

JetBlue already operates flights to Mexico City out of two focus cities in Florida: Fort Lauderdale and Orlando.

By October, the carrier will operate more than 40 weekly flights between the United States and Mexico City.

A New Eatery Opens in St Croix

By the Caribbean Journal staff

One of the Caribbean’s hottest culinary scenes just got even hotter with the addition of another exciting eatery.

It’s called Club Comanche R.A.W., and it’s situated on the ground floor beneath the historic Club Comanche boutique hotel in Christiansted (a place you may know for its secret cigar lounge). It’s just across the street from the 40 Strand restaurant, another Christiansted favorite.

R.A.W, which just opened this month, focuses on craft cocktails, special wines and fresh seafood, with the latter featuring everything from sous vide lobster to langoustines in chili broth.

But it’s really about the drinks — R.A.W. stands for Rum and Wine, meaning you can get the best of the Caribbean’s most famous spirit and a terrific selection of wines to savor.
